Overview
To transform the practice of management around the world by creating and disseminating applied knowledge.
Cranfield School of Management is recognised as one of Europe’s oldest business schools and is part of Cranfield University, the UK’s only wholly postgraduate institution. Technology and leadership are connected to drive global innovation, shaping the way society thinks, works, and learns. Strong industry ties have been maintained since the 1950s, with the school being formally established in 1967 in response to the growing demand for management training. Excellence in leadership development, real-world impact, and corporate partnerships is widely acknowledged. Research and consultancy are conducted at the forefront of industry, while a range of postgraduate degrees, including MBA, MSc, DBA, and PhD programmes, is offered. Executive and apprenticeship programmes are delivered alongside customised corporate training, ensuring that organisations receive tailored solutions to their challenges. Flexible and technology-enhanced learning is provided, allowing students to study full-time or through modular and part-time formats. Academic rigour is combined with business expertise by faculty members, who remain actively engaged with consultancy and research, keeping them closely connected to the needs of business and government. Their work benefits organisations such as Jaguar Land Rover, BAE Systems, Shell, L’Oréal, UNICEF, and the African Development Bank.
