Overview
We educate research-based and responsible business professionals in an inspirational learning community rooted in a university of technology. We create impactful research and business relevant knowledge for the benefit of students, businesses, the academic community, and sustainable development of society.
LUT Business School (LBS) is one of three schools located at LUT University—a university of technology—in Lappeenranta, Finland. We are a vibrant community of faculty, staff, students, and alumni who shape the practice of business around Finland, Europe, and the world. Our strategic research priorities focus on driving sustainable growth and creating value in the digital economy. We are ranked among the top 200 business schools in the world according to Times Higher Education’s field-specific 2025 ranking. We offer research-based education at bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. The AACSB accreditation we received in 2022 and the program-specific EFMD accreditation we initially received in 2011 for our MSc in International Marketing Management demonstrate our commitment to high-quality education. We provide a cross-disciplinary study climate in which students are exposed to the latest technological developments and collaborate with engineering students through studies, extracurricular activities, or cross-disciplinary student life. Our learning environment is international, with over 80 nationalities represented on our campuses. Close interaction between students and faculty is an attribute for which we are regularly praised by our students. LUT campuses are located in Lappeenranta and Lahti, and they are known for their sustainable development efforts. The main campus in Lappeenranta is a unique cross-scientific research and teaching environment in which the university’s innovations are put to practical use. The location near beautiful Lake Saimaa provides an inspirational learning environment close to nature, yet only two hours by train from Helsinki.
