Overview
Expand the knowledge of managerial theory and practice, foster social sustainability awareness and innovative footprints, and exert societal impacts through lifelong learning and collaborations with stakeholders.
National Chung Cheng University (CCU) was founded on July 1, 1989, to enhance higher education in the Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan regions while addressing educational disparities. Initially, CCU established five colleges, including the College of Management (CoM). Over the years, it expanded to seven colleges, offering 29 undergraduate programs, 44 master's programs, 29 Ph.D. programs, and 17 in-service graduate programs. With over 960 faculty and staff and approximately 12,000 students, CCU continues to grow as a leading institution. In its early years, the CoM comprised three graduate institutes: International Economics, Finance, and Business Administration. It later expanded with the Graduate Institute of Accounting in 1993 and the Graduate Institute of Information Management in 1994. Today, the CoM operates from two buildings—the main six-story complex covering over 19,000 square meters and a second facility completed in 2015. The CoM offers academic programs across five departments: Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting and Information Technology, and Information Management. It provides a strong foundation for undergraduate students and offers 16 master's programs, including the International Master Program in Global Finance. To address industry needs, the CoM introduced the Master of Science in Financial Technology and the Digital Learning Master Program in Accounting and Law. It also supports research through five Ph.D. programs, a university-level research center, and eight college-level research centers. Focusing on research impact, practical learning, ethical leadership, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration, the CoM launched the Ministry of Education’s English-Medium Instruction (EMI) program in 2023 to enhance students’ subject knowledge and English proficiency. To foster international engagement, it hosts exchange activities such as English Corner and professional workshops. In 2024, it established a Muslim prayer room to accommodate its diverse student community, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity. As part of its University Social Responsibility (USR) efforts, the CoM launched a 2025 project to preserve and promote Indigenous culture, integrating education with industrial innovation to benefit both cultural heritage and economic development. Located in Chiayi, a region rich in natural and cultural resources, the CoM incorporates sustainability, innovation, and global perspectives into its education. With over 35 years of academic excellence, it remains committed to refining its programs, fostering interdisciplinary learning, and preparing students to navigate the modern business world. Through continuous improvement and global collaboration, the CoM strives to develop future business leaders capable of addressing global challenges.
