Overview

The Harrison College of Business and Computing offers the BSBA degree with majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Healthcare Administration, International Business, Management and Marketing. The college also offers the B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Economics, Financial Econometrics, Healthcare Management and Hospitality Management. At the graduate level, the college offers the MBA, the M.S. in Applied Computer Science, Cybersecurity and in Management. The BSBA, BSHM, BS in Financial Econometrics, MBA, MSHM, MSM programs are AACSB accredited. Our Hospitality Management program is ACPHA accredited and our BSBA in Management (Human Resources Management option) degree is SHRM-aligned. Southeast Missouri State University is a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In addition, Southeast Missouri State University is designated by the state of Missouri as an institution of higher education with a statewide mission in the areas of computer science, cybersecurity, and visual and performing arts. There are 50 full-time faculty, 86 percent holding a doctoral degree. Ninety percent of courses are taught by full-time faculty, and the remaining are instructed by experienced practitioners with specialized knowledge. The average class size for the college is 22 students. Each year 90 students complete an internship or participate in a business practicum on average. Harrison college of business and computing has a robust study abroad program providing invaluable experiential learning opportunities to our business students. The college is accredited by the Network of International Business Schools (NISB), which recognizes Southeast for its dedication to the internationalization of its programs. Classes are offered in Robert A. Dempster Hall, one of the finest comprehensive facilities in the state to support business programs. The facility is a technology-rich, globally-connected learning environment. Finance lab, Cyber range, Stamp cyber command center, IoT lab, Hospitality management lab and Marketing lab are some of the notable facilities to provide experiential learning opportunities for our students. Additionally, students have learning opportunities at Catapult Creative House, where students and faculty practice the entrepreneurial mindset. Located in the city’s business district, students develop and test business models in the marketplace. The Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a campus-wide academic initiative, also serves to stimulate entrepreneurial growth.
