Overview

The mission of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business is the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge to educate and inspire future leaders and promote the effective and ethical practice of business. We are committed to providing innovative and market-leading programs that prepare our graduates to be leaders in their organizations and communities. In doing so, we contribute to the intellectual and economic development of our state, nation, and world. As the business school at the nation’s first state-chartered university, the Terry College of Business pursues its mission in three central areas: teaching, research, and service.

Founded in 1912, the Terry College of Business is the University of Georgia’s flagship business school and one of the nation’s top public business institutions. As UGA’s second‑largest college, Terry consistently earns national recognition, with 13 programs ranked among the best in the country and nine placing in the Top 10 among public universities. The college prepares undergraduate, graduate, MBA, and doctoral students to lead, innovate, and excel in a global business environment. Terry offers a very popular residential undergraduate program, a business minor, a wide range of specialized master’s degrees, multiple MBA program formats in Athens and Atlanta, and eight areas of study within its Ph.D. programs. Undergraduate students can choose from nine majors: Accounting, Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Real Estate, and Risk Management and Insurance. To further personalize their education, students may pursue one of eight certificate programs, including entrepreneurship and music business. Experiential learning is a hallmark of the Terry experience. Students gain hands‑on skills through opportunities such as a student‑managed investment fund, a bond fund, a sales lab, and numerous study abroad programs. Career readiness is another defining strength: over the past five years, more than 95 percent of Terry graduates secured full‑time employment within three months of graduation. The Business Learning Community, Terry’s state‑of‑the‑art home, sits at the heart of UGA’s Athens campus. Additional degree and executive education programs are offered in Atlanta’s Buckhead district and at UGA Griffin. With a global alumni network of more than 80,000, Terry fosters lifelong connections, mentorship, and exceptional career opportunities.
