Overview

The mission of the School is to provide world-class undergraduate and graduate education in the fields of economics and management while extending the boundaries of knowledge through research in a vibrant and stimulating learning environment and promoting a culture of excellence through innovation, inclusion, service, and partnership with the local community, the region, and the world.

The University of Cyprus (UCy) was founded in 1989 as the first university in Cyprus. Within a short period of time, UCy has established itself as a premier educational and research institution. UCy is featured in all major rankings, highlighted by a Top 100 placement in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2024. The Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) was one of UCy’s three original faculties, and a driving force behind the university’s impressive growth. It has built a reputation for teaching and research excellence, as attested to by external quality evaluations. In 2023, it became the first school in Cyprus and the first Greek-language institution to obtain AACSB Business Accreditation, a testament to its commitment to academic excellence. FEM offers a range of high-quality undergraduate programs in economics and business, with specializations in accounting, finance, management, marketing, and operations management. At the postgraduate level, it provides a diverse range of English-language programs, including the flagship MBA, core programs in Economic Analysis and Finance, as well as innovative programs in Data Science, Human Resource Management, and Behavioral Economics. Its graduates can be found across all areas of professional life including business, industry, and the public sector. Our academic staff are accomplished researchers with excellent academic credentials. They are engaged with industry and community outreach activities that benefit society and enrich the classroom experience. They are complemented by professionals who offer applied courses, ensuring students gain both academic knowledge and real-world experience. FEM students also benefit from an extensive network of industry and policy-making partners, offering opportunities for practical training and career development.
